  1. Learn the basics

    Get to know the tiles, winning hands, waits and yaku. Read a lesson, then check what you remember with a quiz. A yaku reference and glossary are included.

  2. Practise scoring

    Learn to count fu and han, then work out the points. Scoring Training uses actual winning hands: enter your answer and check the worked explanation.

  3. Put it into practice

    Play four-player or three-player mahjong against AI. Invite friends to an online game with a four-digit room code. Lessons and AI games also work offline.

Common questions

What kind of mahjong is this?

Japanese riichi mahjong, with four-player and three-player games at a 3D table. It follows different rules from mahjong solitaire, the tile-matching puzzle.

Can I start without knowing mahjong?

Yes. The lessons begin with the tile types. Work through lessons and quizzes to learn winning shapes and yaku.

Can I practise scoring separately?

Yes. Scoring Training uses actual winning hands. Calculate the fu and points, then check the worked explanation. Honba bonuses and riichi deposits are explained separately from the value of the hand.

Can I play online with friends?

Share a four-digit room code to join the same table. Each player needs the app and an internet connection.

Do I need an internet connection?

Lessons and AI games work offline. Online games require an internet connection.

Is the app available in English?

Yes. Switch between Japanese and English inside the app. The video on this English website shows the app being played with the English interface.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?
